A SOLUTION to the ‘chaotic and dangerous’ parking on a road in Grappenhall needs to be found as soon as possible according to a councillor.

East View in the village has become a nightmare for residents with shoppers at the nearby Tesco Express on Knutsford Road regularly parking on the once quiet road.

On Tuesday, the road was shut for 30 minutes at 4.30pm after a large HGV tried to negotiate the road but soon got into trouble.

Instead it got stuck and tried to reverse before hitting a parked car.

One angry resident said it was time for things to change.

He added: “Here’s another example of chaos and danger in East View caused by the traffic hell since the arrival of Tesco.”

Cllr Ryan Bate (LD – Grappenhall) says it is time for action to come up with a solution to the issue.

He added: “The problems on East View have been going on for far too long.

“I am aware that council officers are trying to find a solution which works for the residents of East View, however this latest incident proves that that solution needs to be found as soon as possible.

“I hope to meet with highways officers as a matter of urgency to see what we might do.”

Shoppers at Tesco regularly park on East View as the car park for the store is often full. It also has a very limited number of spaces.
