A FOUR-strong team from Warrington-based company No Brainer walked more than 26 miles to raise money for cancer charity Macmillan.

The charity was chosen as it stands very close to No Brainer's news and content manager Steve Bland’s heart.

His wife, BBC presenter Rachael Bland, was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2016.

After undergoing several rounds of treatment, the couple were told earlier this year that the disease had spread and is incurable.

Rachael co-hosts the popular podcast You, Me and the Big C on Radio 5 Live.

The dedicated team at the PR, social media and content marketing agency raised more than £2,000 for Macmillan after tackling a gruelling 26.5-mile hike through the Peak District.

Director Gary Jenkins, news and content manager Steve Bland, account manager Lauren Pritchard and account executive Hannah Jones battled rain, high winds and testing terrain to complete the Macmillan Mighty Hike in less than 11 hours.

Steve said: “It was both emotionally and physically very tiring but it was an incredible experience and I’m really proud that we all finished the walk and so glad that we were able to raise so much money for a fantastic charity that does amazing work.

“Our clients, friends and families have all been so supportive in helping us raise so much money and I know we’d all like to thank everyone who donated.”

More than 1,500 fundraisers took on the Mighty Hike, which took the No Brainer team from Darley Moor, near Ashbourne, to Bakewell, in Derbyshire.
