A BOLLARD costing £1,500 will be installed at Marina Park in Great Sankey to prevent further traveller encampments.
Warrington Borough Council has confirmed the group made up of around 15 caravans and associated vehicles has left the site, on Marina Avenue, this afternoon, Friday.
The authority said 'arrangements will be made for the site to be cleaned'.
However, the group has moved onto Greystone Recreation Ground in Penketh.
The council has outlined the security measures that will be introduced at Marina Park.
A spokeswoman said: "The council is looking to introduce a drop-down bollard at the entrance to the park.
"The drop-down bollard will be installed on Monday – the cost of the bollard, including installation, is approximately £1,500.
"The park was originally protected by a low-level barrier gate that was secured by a padlock."
