FOUR hundred young shoppers enjoyed Golden Square Shopping Centre’s free sports-themed playground in the first week.
The centre’s Stadium of Fun summer play park, located in the Old Market Square, opened on Wednesday, July 25, featuring a giant slide, tower, tunnel, rickety bridge and climbing wall as well as a dedicated area for under fours.
The venue is open to all youngsters aged 12 and under until Sunday, September 2.
With a parent or guardian, little visitors can enjoy the adventure activities as well as a sporting-themed treasure hunt around the centre.
Golden Square Shopping Centre director, Ian Cox, said: “We originally launched the GS summer playground in 2014 and it’s been a massive hit with families in the area and we can see that the people of Warrington have been enjoying the Stadium of Fun even more.
“The event space looks really great with all the sports-themed decorations and children seem to be really loving taking a break from shopping and embarking on an adventure in our play area.”
All children must be supervised by a parent or guardian.
Opening times throughout the summer are:
Monday to Friday from 9.30am until 5.30pm
Saturday from 9am until 6pm
Sunday from 11am until 5pm
