TWO years on, the family of a missing woman cling to the hope she is still alive.

This week marks the second anniversary of Sara Kershaw's disappearance - she was last seen on August 26, 2005, at Hollins Park Hospital.

The 63-year-old, of Culcheth Hall Drive, Culcheth, is known to her friends as Liz and had been receiving treatment for anxiety and depression at the hospital.

Since Mrs Kershaw went missing her three children have been left in turmoil, but say they haven't given up hope of her safe return.

Patrick, aged 34, from Gorse Covert, said: "There has been no news since mum vanished. As a family we maintain her house which is quite eerie.

"There is nothing to say if she is dead or alive and we have to be realistic but we do live in hope that one day she may come back.

"She is still very much in our thoughts."

His brother Anthony, aged 36, and their 27-year-old sister Catherine, who lives in Nottingham, are urging their mum to get in touch.

Her anniversary coincides with the launch of a high profile video campaign by charity, Missing People, and the first advert is set to feature Mrs Kershaw.

Paul Tuohy, chief executive of Missing People, said: "It is the first time our vulnerable cases such as Liz have been presented in this way.

"Thousands of people go missing each year and we hope that this will enable us to highlight our most vulnerable cases in a way that is interesting and relevant to the public."

Mrs Kershaw is 5ft 1ins tall, with grey, shoulder length, curly hair.

She was wearing black trousers and a cream jacket at the time of her disappearance.

A spokesman for Warrington police said: "We continue to be concerned for the welfare of Sara Kershaw and we appeal to anyone who may have information about her whereabouts or have seen her to get in touch with the police."

Anyone with information regarding Mrs Kershaw's whereabouts should call Warrington Police on 01244 612645, quoting incident number 660/August 26.
