TWO Orford-based Brownie troupes have received a royal thank you after sending their wishes to the Windsor family for the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and the birth of the birth of Prince Louis.

The 36th Warrington St John’s Brownies and the 1st Warrington Brownies both made wall hangings and posted cards to Kensington Palace to celebrate the recent royal wedding.

And each troupe member received a thank you letter from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and pictures of the couple for their wishes.

Margaret Grady, leader of the Orford Community Hub-based 1st Warrington Brownies, said: “To our complete surprise there was an individual letter for each Brownie, addressed with their name.

“Inside there was a stunning picture from the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan, and some beautiful words on the back.

“All the Brownies were beyond excited and could not wait to show their parents.”

Sandy Lane-based 36th Warrington St John’s Brownies also congratulated the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their newborn baby, with each Brownie also receiving pictures of Prince Louis in reply.

Troupe leader Gaynor Connor said: “To say the Brownies were over the moon is an understatement.

“I like to think that the girls will keep this as a souvenir of the time they were at Brownies."
