GREEN-fingered pupils at an Orford forest school have won an award for their gardening skills - leading to them receiving a very novel prize.
Sandy Lane Nursery and Forest School scooped the People’s Vote at Arley Hall and Gardens’ schools gardening competition on Saturday, June 23.
Staff and students worked together to design their own garden at the grade-two listed hall, which dates back to the 1830s.
And the pupils were given a bench in the shape of a dachshund dog by Knutsford-based Fryer’s Garden Centre as a reward for their efforts.
It was the fourth year running that the school had entered the competition - having come in third place in 2017.
