A STORY seat in to remember the contribution of a former councillor to a school in Lymm has been revealed.
Cllr Sheila Woodyatt, who died earlier this year, was a chair of governors at Cherry Tree Primary School for 38 years and was a much-loved part of the community.
So the school decided to mark her contribution by unveiling a story seat in memory of the former mayor.
Current Mayor of Warrington Cllr Karen Mundry was on hand to unveil the seat with head teacher Helen Graham and members of the school council at an Alice in Wonderland themed open day during the annual Lymm Open Gardens Festival on Sunday.
Mrs Graham said: “Sheila was such an important part of our school for many years.

"Our school council decided to raise money, via a non- uniform day, to build a new story seat in her memory to mark the important work that she did for both the school and our community.
"The story seat will become the focus of a story circle within our fantastic school grounds and can be used by our children and teachers during class or play time.
"We are delighted that new Mayor Karen Mundry agreed to unveil the seat."
Pupils in the school helped to get the grounds ready with a whole school gardening day where children and parents helped to plant bedding plants, weed the allotment and carry out maintenance tasks.
