A NEW gym in Warrington which opened just two months ago is already producing weightlifting stars.

Pride Performance, based on Slutchers Lane, is dedicated to Olympic weightlifting and strength sports and wanted to offer what isn’t widely available– a home to lift for everybody whether a child, a complete beginner or a competitive athlete.

Among those to use the facilities are 2018 England’s Strongest Woman Stephanie Clark and 16-year old Max Carr who holds all four north west powerlifting records in his weight class for under 16 and under 18.

On Sunday, Steph competed at ESW winning three events and taking first place overall qualifying her for nationals in July.

Gym owner Heather Flannery said: “At Pride, we believe in being a community where you can train together no matter your experience, age or ability.

“We offer one-to-one coaching and programming as well as a range of classes and courses to suit everybody from weight loss boot camp to Olympic weightlifting, strength camps and barbell basics, a seven-week course for complete beginners and accessories to compliment them in order to increase your knowledge and confidence in the gym."

Pride is offering a free one-to-one coaching day between 9pm and 4pm on Saturday.
