TRAVEL disruption has been reported across the town as Storm Hector sweeps across the north west.
The Met Office has reported how Storm Hector will bring a spell of 'very windy weather on Thursday with gusts of 50 to 60 mph likely'.
A sycamore tree came down in Great Sankey this morning, blocking Highfield Avenue.
Council officers are currently on the way to remove the fallen tree.

There are currently strong winds on M6 Thelwall Viaduct between junction 20 at the Lymm Interchange and junction 21 at Woolston.
There is a speed limit set at 50 mph.
Drivers are advised to plan for their journey before they set out and to leave extra time if travel conditions are poor.
An overturned trailer on the M62 is also causing delays. More here.
A number of train delays have also been reported due to speed restrictions.
Will Lang, from the Met Office, said: “A yellow national severe weather warning has been issued for the north of the UK and an amber warning for parts of Northern Ireland, with the potential for disruption to travel, damage to buildings and power cuts.
“The public can prepare for the adverse weather this evening by securing loose objects such as garden furniture, outdoor toys and other loose objects.
"As it is summer and trees are in leaf, there is a greater risk of impact from debris.”
