A GP surgery in Bewsey could be set for a three-storey extension.

Medi Centre Warrington, on Bewsey Road, is seeking planning permission from Warrington Borough Council for the scheme.

Despite having been open for less than two years, the practice is seeking an extension to the side of the building bordering Marson Street.

Construction work would accommodate a ‘dedicated recovery facility’, as well as additional clinical rooms and support services.

Meanwhile, the former home of the Eric Moore Partnership GP practice – which moved into Medi Centre Warrington when it first opened in September 2016 – looks set to be converted into housing.

Tarporley-based developer David Stearne property has applied to turn the vacant listed building on Bewsey Street into an eight-bedroom house of multiple occupancy.

Planning documents state that the late 18th century building’s owners ‘have not been able to find suitable tenants in its current form’ in the year-and-a-half it has been vacant.
