A YOUNG street dancing duo are set to appear on national television this weekend.

Lexy Dawbarn and William Davies, who are aged nine and eight respectively, will be showing off their moves on ITV’s Little Big Shots at 7pm on Sunday, May 27.

The pair, who train at Stage Pro Academy on Museum Street in the town centre, filmed for the show with presenter Dawn French in London back in November.

Tanya Dawbarn, Lexy’s mum, said: “They’re just excited to see the show now, because they’ve been waiting a long time to see it as it was months ago when they filmed it now.

“They were really excited when they found out they were going to be on the show, but I don’t think they realised the implications of it until they got there to film it.

“Both of them were a little bit starstruck and nervous when they met Dawn, but we had a really good day and I hope it comes out well on the show.

“It’s a nice thing for them to have, and something that they will remember when they’re older.”

Lexy’s family will all gather at their home in Higher Walton at the weekend to watch the episode, which is the last in the current series of Little Big Shots.

The Daresbury Primary School pupil is following in the footsteps of her uncle - none other than Spike Dawbarn from 90s boyband 911.

She has previously performed onstage with Justin Bieber during the popstar’s UK tour, while her and Will - who lives in Northwich - have previously been named as world champion street dancers.

Tanya added: “She’s definitely taking after her uncle - we’re keeping it in the family.

“They did ask on the show whether anybody in the family was a performer, and she certainly didn’t get it from me.

“We’re going to get all the family around to watch the show.

“They’re very good at what they do, and they’ve now got through to the IDO World Dance Championships in Watford in July.

“If they qualify they’ll be going to Poland in October.

“I’m extremely proud of Lexy.”
