WIRE supporter and proud Geordie Tony McLaughlin will be heading to St James’ Park on Saturday to cheer on Warrington when they take on Wigan in this year’s Dacia Magic Weekend.

Tony is delighted to be able to watch his beloved Wire in his home town and has created a small Geordie army.

  •  How long have you been supporting the Wire?

About four years now. Once I watched rugby league and got into the sport Warrington appealed to me. I like the way they play the game and I love everything about the club. It’s a great club that looks after its fans.

I love the place, it’s great.

  •  Magic Weekend is back at Newcastle this weekend. Have you been to the previous three?

I certainly have. It’s the one time Super League and Warrington come to my home town and I love it. I’ve managed to get a few of my fellow Geordies along to see what it’s all about. They’ve loved it as well and come back year after year. I’ve converted my family and friends.

We’ve got to get the win this year, we drew last season but we were robbed. With the membership too I get discount on my Magic Weekend tickets which works out really well.

I had a flexi membership for the past two or three seasons and it was brilliant. This year’s move to an affiliate package has worked really well for me. It gives you great benefits.

With me living in Newcastle it’s ideal for me travelling down to games. I can pick and choose the games I want.

  •  How many games have you got to this season?

I would say once or twice a month. I try and get to every home game and obviously there’s some games I can’t get to. I try to get to as many games as I can.
