POLICE are appealing for information after a man suffered serious injuries when he was attacked on a night out.

The 23-year-old, from the Warrington area, was punched in the face during an argument on the upper dancefloor of Showbar on Friars Gate at around 3.10am on Sunday, February 11.

He suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, but has since been discharged.

His attacker remained in the nightclub after the assault with a group of men and women.

Cheshire Police are now appealing for information from members of the public related to the incident.

The suspect – believed to be in his early-to-mid 20s – is described as being white with dark curly hair, clean shaven, of average build and around 5ft9 in height.

He was wearing a white t-shirt, an unzipped dark green jacket and dark trousers.

Police constable Sean Dickinson said: “This appears to have been an unprovoked assault – it left the victim with serious facial injuries and we are determined to catch the man responsible for them and bring him to justice.

“Enquiries into the investigation are continuing and I urge anyone who witness the assault or recognises the description of the offender and thinks they may know who he is to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 267 of February 13, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
