VANDALS who threw paint over customers at a family-run bar in Lymm have left a trail of destruction in their wake.

Police have issued an appeal for information after two men targeted The Venue on Rectory Lane at 8.20pm yesterday, Tuesday, before driving off in a getaway vehicle.

No arrests have been made at this stage.

As the investigation continues, the owners of the bar have released CCTV of the targeted attack.

Posting on Facebook, the owners added: “I didn't want to rise to the situation through Facebook but I need a way to say thank you to the people who helped out after the incident that happened at The Venue last night.

“During the quiz night, two men approached the bar with tins of paint.

“One man launched red paint on the outside while another man launched paint through the door directly on to the bar.

“They both got off in a getaway vehicle.

“I’m not sure what I've done to deserve this. I know I don't deserve this.

“I've done nothing but try to create a nice environment for people to come and enjoy a drink with entertainment and build a good reputation for the bar, but there is always going to be people that try to knock you down when you're trying to do well. I'm very disheartened.

“I need to get my deepest thank you out to the people that instantly rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in helping out before the paint dried.

“The amount of help and support was unreal. It's actually really overwhelming. Thank you.”

The bar will be back open for the football this evening and the open mic night tomorrow, Thursday.
