BOY band Five and a former winner of The Voice will be performing at the Tetley Walker Club to launch a new festival in Orford this summer.

The Keep On Movin' singers will be joined by Kevin Simm, who won talent show The Voice in 2016, to headline the all-day event at the Long Lane sports and social club on Saturday, June 9.

Also on the line-up are tribute group Spice Girlz, stage actor-turned-singer Katy Barsby, rock band The Patriots, entertainer Nikki Lynch and Warrington's own star-in-the-making Grace Chrougan.

The 1,200-capacity festival will be called WA2 Live and organisers say it 'is already creating a buzz around Orford'.

Five, whose line-up used to include former Sir Thomas Boteler CE High School student Jason 'J' Brown, formed in 1997 and were brought together by the same team that managed the Spice Girls.

Between 1998 and 2001 the BRIT Award winners had three top five albums, including a number one, and nine top five singles.

Their chart-toppers included Keep on Movin', Let's Dance and a cover of We Will Rock You which actually saw the band team up with Queen's Brian May on guitar and Roger Taylor on drums.

The Voice 2016 winner Kevin Simm first found success as part of Liberty X who had 20 consecutive top 10 singles and won a BRIT Award in 2003 for Best Single 2003 with Just A Little.

Kevin joined forces with the group again as part of ITV2's The Big Reunion.

Katy Barsby trod the boards in her youth for productions like We Will Rock You and Rent.

She is also a former member of the Halle Youth Choir and toured with them in the UK and France.

Her repertoire sees her perform a wide variety of covers ranging from the 40s era through to present day.

The Patriots formed in 2013 and have already played at the likes of the O2 Academy in Liverpool. They also performed to 18,000 people during a sold out St Helens home game against Wigan in the derby.

Nikki Lynch has been performing since the age of 12. She spent a season as an entertainer in Salou, Spain and more recently has been working with producer and engineer Kenny Hayes who is responsible for the success of many Clubland hits.

Grace Chrougan is an 18-year-old singer-songwriter from Warrington.

Her influences include Florence and the Machine and Amy Winehouse and she is currently working on her debut single and EP.

The team at the Tetley Walker Club have brought on event management company, Live Events, to oversee WA2 Live.

Jamie Fildes, director of Live Events, said: "It's a real coup to get big names like this for a new festival. The event is already creating a buzz around Orford and we can't wait until June."
