PUPILS from Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School have been remembering those affected by the Warrington bombing 25 years on.

As part of the Colours for Peace Day, 32 year five pupils learnt and performed a version of 'In the arms of an angel' during their daily collective worship lesson.

The children, from the school on Fox Street, also wrote prayers of peace - some for Tim Parry and Johnathan Ball, who were killed in the blast on March 20 1993 - others for soldiers fighting at war.

Danielle Walker, year five teacher said the sessions are a chance for the children to 'reflect' and 'pray', sometimes for more general issues, others like the 25th anniversary, are topical at the time.

She said: "We chose a song we felt was appropriate for the day and learnt it.

"We sang for those poor boys that lost their lives and then wrote prayers for peace in our world.

"It was the children's idea to then share it online."

Each child at the school donated £1 to wear green, blue or white for the Colours for Peace Day, with all money raised going to the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation For Peace.
