ZUMBA lovers in Chapelford danced their way through a marathon fitness class last weekend and raised more than £1,000 for charity.

Around 150 people supported the fundraising event organised by fitness instructor Sarah Smith.

The Zumba marathon took place at Chapelford Village Primary School on Sunday morning.

Young street dancers and members of the Zumba kids class entertained people with a 30-minute performance before the Stand Up and Zumba marathon started.

This consisted of two hours of non-stop Zumba and included workouts to more than 30 songs.

A total of £523 was collected for Claire House Children's Hospice with help from a raffle, tombola and refreshment stall.

Lloyds Bank also agreed to donate a further £500.
