THE M62 was closed this afternoon after an accident involving three cars.
A collision on the outside lane of the westbound carriageway between junction 11 at Birchwood and junction 12 at Eccles saw the motorway shut.
While the M62 was reopened at around 5pm, ‘huge’ tailbacks are still being reported by Highways England.
