RESIDENTS are being asked for their views on plans to improve traffic flow in west Warrington.
A consultation has been launched today, Monday, on the scheme planned to make improvements to the junction of Liverpool Road and Lingley Green Avenue in Great Sankey.
The council said the junction experiences congestion at peak hours, which has ‘knock-on effects on the network’.
It believes, without improvements, congestion could get worse ‘as traffic growth in the area continues’.
The proposed improvements include the widening of Liverpool Road eastbound and Lingley Green Avenue southbound.
The authority will hold public exhibitions to explain the proposals, with officers on hand to answer any questions residents might have.
The expected start of construction is still to be confirmed but it is planned to be completed by spring 2020.
The consultation period runs until March 16.
The public exhibitions will be held on:
Thursday 1 March – 11am to 2pm: The food hall, Lingley Mere Business Park
Friday 2 March – 4pm to 8pm: The main hall, Tim Parry Community Centre, Cromdale Way
Saturday 3 March – 10am to 1pm: Main Hall, Tim Parry Community Centre
