A MILKMAN had his van stolen at knifepoint outside a primary school in Old Hall in the early hours of Valentine’s Day.

The 59-year-old delivery driver was threatened with a knife near to Westbrook Old Hall Primary School, on Old Hall Road, at around 4am on Wednesday, February 14.

His white Mercedes Sprinter van was stolen and driven off in the direction of Twenty Acre Road.

It was later found on Cromdale Way in Great Sankey.

The suspected robber is described as being white, thin, around 6ft in height and with stubble on his top lip.

He was wearing ‘scruffy’ dark clothing, had his hood up and a woolly hat underneath.

Cheshire Police want to identify a silver 4x4 that was in the immediate area at the time of the robbery.

A force spokesman said: “We are looking to speak to anyone who might have seen the silver 4x4 in the lead up to the robbery, the robbery itself or the van after it was left on Cromdale Way.

“This was a very scary incident for the victim, who was just going about his normal business making milk deliveries to schools when he was targeted in the early hours whilst alone.

“We therefore want to catch those responsible.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 59 on February 14, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
