THE future looks bright for two teenagers from Warrington after securing places at the universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

The Manchester Grammar School (MGS) pupils are now preparing for their final exams after receiving their offers.

Lloyd Hampton, 17, from Great Sankey, will study music at Girton College, Cambridge, while Jordan Pickett, 18, from Latchford, has been offered a place at Regent’s Park College, Oxford, to read philosophy and theology.

Jordan said he was 'delighted' to receive the offer.

He added: "I will be forever grateful to MGS for allowing me to study at their institution on their full bursary scheme which has allowed me to fulfil my academic dreams, undeterred by my financial background.”
