IT was a time of celebration for members of the Burtonwood Amateur Music and Drama Society after Rob Minjoot picked up the award for best actor at the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) North West Awards.

The talented actor was delighted to pick up the award at Crewe Hall after he was shortlisted for the prestigious prize.

Brian Maffitt, chairman of the drama group, said: “It was a fantastic evening and the award was the icing on the cake after seven nominations for the society.

“We are a small village society so it was a great achievement to compete with some really big and fantastic groups.”

Rehearsals are already under way for the drama society’s next performance.

Tickets are on sale for The Pied Piper of Hamelin which will take over the stage at St Michael’s Church Parish Hall on February 15 to 17.
The evening doors are set to open at 7pm with the show to start at 7.30pm.

There will also be a 1pm performance on the Saturday.
Prices for tickets start from £5 for concessions and £6 for adults.
