A MAN in his 40s has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash near St Alban's Catholic Primary School this afternoon.
Paramedics and police officers remain at the scene on Bewsey Road following the collision at 4pm today, Thursday, involving a white Toyota Prius and a white Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
A spokesman for the North West Ambulance Service has confirmed that the man suffered 'serious injuries'.
He has now been taken to Aintree Hospital.
It is understood a second casualty is being treated at the scene.
The road is currently closed in both directions between Folly Lane and Froghall Lane - this has caused major congestion in the area.
Police say the road is expected to reopen by 6.30pm.
Anyone with information can call Cheshire Police on 101 citing incident number 629 of January 18.
