A PROPERTY in Orford plagued by incidents of anti-social behaviour has been closed down by police.

Cheshire Police carried out a closure order under the Crime and Policing Act at an address on Statham Avenue yesterday, Thursday.

The order was made after officers received numerous reports of anti-social and criminal behaviour at the address, which have had a 'significant impact' on people in the area.

The property, which is rented by a single tenant, will now be boarded up for three months.

Anyone who enters the house during that time will be committing an offence and can be arrested.

Insp Neil Drum said: "The bad behaviour of the tenant and his visitors, which was often in the early hours, was having a detrimental impact on the community as a whole and therefore we have taken action against this.

"We want people to be able to live in their homes without being blighted by this sort of behaviour and we want to thank the residents for their support."
