WARRINGTON Hospital is set to launch a free Wi-Fi service for patients and visitors.

A £200,000 grant has been given to Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust from NHS Digital, which will see Wi-Fi introduced for patients, visitors and members of staff.

The trust is one of 16 across the country to be selected to take part in the pilot project, which will provide ‘secure, stable and reliable Wi-Fi capability’ at the hospital.

Work is expected to begin shortly, with the Wi-Fi set to launch within the next few months.

Kimberley Salmon-Jamieson, chief nurse at Warrington Hospital, said: “The organisation-wide Wi-Fi will improve patient and visitor experiences, allowing them to enjoy using the internet around our sites on their personal devices – which will only add to the comfort and enjoyment of their time here.”
