AN ARMED robber threatened newsagent staff and demanded money from the till.
Shortly before 8:30am yesterday (Friday, September 22), police were called to reports of the armed robbery which took place at a newsagents on Longford Street, Warrington.
The man entered the shop and is believed to have threatened a staff member with a weapon demanding money from the till. The staff member was then assaulted during an altercation, before the man fled the scene with a quantity of cash.
The offender is described as wearing a black hooded jacket with a white logo on the left side, a grey t-shirt and blue jeans. He was also wearing a black cap with a small white logo on.
Police enquiries are ongoing.
Anyone with any information that can help officers with their enquiries is asked to contact Cheshire police on 101 quoting incident number 154 of September 22.
