WARRINGTON Borough Council has responded to concerns over rats at Riverside Retail Park.
The authority investigated the matter after it was reported by a resident.
A council spokesman said: "Riverside Retail Park is near the River Mersey, and as such, there is always a potential for issues with rodents.
"We have looked into this matter – however, the site is private land and not adopted by the council.
"It is therefore up to the landowner to provide pest control for the land.
"In addition, the businesses on site should have their own personal pest control contract to eliminate rodents."
