A TALENTED duo raised £1,030 for Warrington Foodbank at a charity concert.
Flautist Meera Maharaj, 21, and guitarist James Girling, 22, joined forces once again to put on an evening of music at St Wilfrid's Church in Grappenhall on July 13.
As well as the funding boost, more than 70kg of groceries were donated to Warrington Foodbank by residents.
Meera, from Grappenhall, said: "This was the fourth concert that we've done and I would like to keep the series going as I enjoy putting the event together and am always pleased to support the Foodbank, which does a brilliant job helping people in Warrington.
"This year the Foodbank has not been able to have its big summer supermarket collection and last week it had 72 vouchers, the highest number ever recorded in one week.
"Sadly some of these vouchers represent families and almost all are due to benefit delays.
"Families are under increased pressure during the school holidays when free school meals aren't available and unfortunately there are a lot of gaps on the shelves at the moment."
