THREE GP practices have been rated as good by the healthcare watchdog following an inspection.

Culcheth Health Centre and its branch surgeries Chapelford Health Centre and Appleton Health Centre have been rated as good following an announced inspection by the Care Quality Commission in May.

The trio of doctors surgeries have around 13,500 patients between them.

In a report following the inspection, the CQC said: “The practice had a clear vision to provide a safe and high quality service.

“Patients told us they were treated with dignity and respect and they were involved in decisions about their care and treatment.

“Staff had been trained to provide them with the skills, knowledge and experience to deliver effective care and treatment.

“The practice had good facilities, including disabled access – it was well-equipped to treat patients and meet their needs.”

Inspectors outlined that improvements could be made in training provided to staff at Chapelford Health Centre.
