'MAJOR roadworks' taking place to resurface Sankey Way and Whittle Avenue are due to last until July 14.
Residents have been warned to expect delays as some roads will be closed between 7pm and midnight while the work is carried out.
On occasion the roads may be closed until 1am to allow the concrete to set or the asphalt to cool.
Diversions will be in place and will be clearly signposted.
Engineering work is set to take place on the stretch of Sankey Way between Liverpool Road and the roundabout for Penketh Road.
Whittle Avenue will also be resurfaced between Sankey Way and Tankersley Grove.
The council's diversion will take drivers along Lingley Green Avenue, Westbrook Way and Cromwell Avenue to reach Sankey Way.
When work is being done on Sankey Way only, a diversion will direct motorists along Whittle Avenue, Westbrook Way and Cromwell Avenue.
Pedestrians will not be affected and the roads will be fully open to traffic between midnight and 7pm.
