A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after a child cyclist was injured in a crash in Padgate this morning.

The emergency services were called to reports of a collision between a car and a young cyclist on Manchester Road at 8.35am today, Thursday.

Paramedics checked over the cyclist at the scene, near to Warrington Motor Parts at the junction with Kingsway North and King Edward Street, while a 36-year-old man from Orford was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

He is currently helping Cheshire Police with their enquiries.
