A NEWLYWED teacher at St Andrew’s CE Primary School loves her job so much that she invited her entire class to her wedding.

Holly Breathwaite, now Dixon, asked her year six pupils to sing on her special day at St Luke’s Church in Formby last Sunday, May 21, and they were delighted to help.

The 27-year-old, who lives in Padgate, asked the sixteen youngsters to perform ‘I Will Follow Him’ from Sister Act.

Head teacher at the Mardale Avenue school Wendy McKinnon said: “It’s just a Holly thing to do, she’s lovely. She has been their class teacher for two years and she just said she wanted them to sing at her wedding.

“It was one of those moments when you think this is why I do this job.

“The children were very excited. One of them said to me, ‘well we will never get a chance to do that again.’

“They wore their school uniforms and all the girls were curling their hair, it was very sweet.

“The parents were quite touched that Holly had invited her class and I’d like to thank them for their help.”

Holly organised a minibus to take the students and staff to the venue.

The school also arranged a special lunch to celebrate the happy occasion and Holly and her new husband, Will, are planning a honeymoon trip to South Africa and Mauritius during the summer holiday.

Holly added: “The guests thought the children were amazing, they couldn’t believe how well behaved and polite they are and thought it was a really personal touch.”
