WARRINGTON'S new mayor will officially take up his new role on Monday.
Cllr Les Morgan (LAB – Latchford West) has been deputy for the past 12 months but will take on the honour from Cllr Faisal Rashid at the annual council meeting at the Town Hall.
Cllr Karen Mundry (LAB – Latchford East) meanwhile is set to become the next deputy mayor. Her husband and fellow councillor Hans Mundry has also served as Mayor.
Meanwhile the inaugural dinner for the town's next mayor will take place at the Hallmark Hotel in Grappenhall next Friday, May 26.
Cllr Les Morgan is set to succeed Cllr Faisal Rashid and is inviting residents to celebrate with him at the event.
A three-course dinner will be followed by live entertainment.
Tickets cost £25 per person in support of the mayor's charities and the event starts at 7pm.
