IT was a busy night for firefighters who were called to a wheelie bin fire on Pinewood Avenue, a tree in flames on Brownhill Drive and a mattress alight on Orford Avenue.

At around 5.20pm three fire engines from Warrington, Stockton Heath and Birchwood were called to Pinewood Avenue in Padgate where a wheelie bin was on fire inside a house.

Two firefighters put on breathing equipment to tackle the flames.

Later at around 9pm a crew from Warrington went to Brownhill Drive in Padgate where a tree had been 'deliberately' set on fire.

A water backpack was used to put out the flames and firefighters have urged anyone with information to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or Cheshire Police on 101.

Then at around 11.40pm one fire engine attended reports of a mattress that was alight and leaning against a garden gate on Orford Avenue.

A hose reel jet was used to put out the fire and luckily nobody was hurt at any of the incidents.
