THE night time road closure scheduled for today, Friday, on Skyline Drive will not be in operation.

The road will be open as usual as the work was completed earlier than expected.

From Monday until June 2, work will begin on the widening of Burtonwood Road southbound which is north of M62 roundabout.

As a result, there will be lane closes on Burtonwood Road southbound between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm.

From Monday until May 23, there will be a full closure on Skyline Drive from the junction of M62 to part of Skyline Drive westbound between the hours of 8pm and 6am.

Access to Omega Developments will be off Lingley Green Avenue and Omega Boulevard.

On May 19, Burtonwood Road northbound will be closed from Whittle Avenue and Burtonwood Road roundabout between the hours of 8pm to 6am.

Access will be maintained into Kingswood Road.

On May 24 and 25, there will be lane closures on every approach to the roundabout and the inner lane of the roundabout.

This will include lane closures on the M62 motorway slip roads and hard shoulder on certain evenings between the hours of 8pm and 6am.

Junction eight in Burtonwood – one of the 'most heavily used and important access points' into west Warrington – was earmarked for work due to often being at capacity and having 'little scope to accommodate predicted increases' in traffic.

The improvement scheme was developed to reduce existing levels of congestion and increase the junction's capacity to support future growth in jobs and houses.
