THERE is still time to have your say on plans to allow police to take action against drink-fuelled anti-social behaviour.

The public consultation into street drinking in Warrington ends on Sunday.

Warrington Borough Council says it has received a large amount of feedback about the proposals. The council is encouraging everyone who would like to have a say but hasn’t done so yet to get involved, before the consultation ends.

A spokesman said: "If introduced, the PSPO would serve as an update to Warrington’s currently active ‘Alcohol Consumption in Designated Public Place Order’.

"This existing order, which expires in October, covers most of the borough, supporting the work to tackle alcohol-related anti-social behaviour.

"The consultation is asking the public if they would like to see a PSPO for the entire borough, or for specific ‘zones’ within Warrington where there is police evidence of persistent alcohol-related anti-social behaviour."

The zones identified by the council and the police are:

1 Stockton Heath Village Centre

2 Lymm Village The Cross

3 Latchford Village

4 Orford Park

5 Santa Rosa Boulevard

6 Birchwood Shopping Centre

7 Mary Ann Meadows and Asda, Westbrook

8 Town Centre and Orford Lane

The consultation, which began in March, ends at 5pm on Sunday.
