A HORSE which got trapped in barbed wire and was stuck in Bridgewater Canal last night has been rescued by firefighters.
Three crews were called to Oughtrington Crescent in Lymm yesterday, Sunday, at around 9pm where they discovered the animal in trouble.
Firefighters from Stockton Heath helped Cheshire Fire's animal rescue team, from Knutsford Fire Station.
The crew put on lifejackets and got into the water to help the horse out.
They cut the animal free from the barbed wire and a vet was called to check the horse was not injured.
Firefighters were on the scene for almost two and a half hours.
