A MOTORIST who was arrested after a man died in a fatal crash in Whitley on Wednesday night has been released.
Cheshire Police is appealing for witnesses following the incident on Limes Lane at 7.26pm, in which a Volkswagen Scirocco and a Kawasaki motorbike crashed.
Sadly, Raf Khan, the rider of the motorbike, died at the scene.
The 47-year-old, from Winsford, owned Warrington Service Centre – it has been closed for the foreseeable future following the death.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a 38-year-old man, from Tarporley, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Police have today, Friday, confirmed the man has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
The family have released a statement following the tragedy.
It said: "We are devastated at the loss of Raf and understand that so many people knew him.
"We request our family can grieve in private and we appreciate everyone’s condolences at this difficult time."
