TO mark the opening of Oak Furniture Land in Warrington, the new team at the furniture store donated a floral basket cake filled with edible flowers to Home-Start Warrington.

The presentation to the charity took place at the opening of its first store in the town on March 18 at Junction Nine Retail Park, formerly Alban Retail Park.

The cake designed by Rose Dummer of Rosie Cake Diva and Cakebomb will be used as part of Home-Start Warrington’s Mother’s Day celebrations.

Chris Murphy, development officer at Home-Start Warrington, said: “The cake donation is a wonderful gesture to support and highlight the work we do in the community.

"Home-Start Warrington works with families in Warrington through volunteers who are parents themselves.

"It is built on the simple premise that if parents get support and friendship from another parent, they will be better equipped to learn to cope with the many difficulties and challenges that life brings."
