A MIDDAY assistant at a Padgate primary has retired after 35 years of service to the school Flo Glover has hung up her pinafore after 35 years at Brook Acre Community Primary School.
The grandma initially joined the Hilden Road school as a cleaner before becoming a midday assistant, also spending a short period working as a kitchen assistant.
Padgate resident Flo said that she had enjoyed her time with pupils at the school and was sad to leave, but felt that the time was right to spend more time with her own family.
She is now looking forward to a relaxing retirement and spending time with her six grandchildren.
Headteacher Jo Holmes said: "Flo has been a committed midday assistant throughout my time at Brook Acre.
"Flo has been been with the school throughout lots of changes and has been a part of the school's improvements over the years, offering calm, safe and enjoyable lunchtimes for our children.
"Flo spent time getting to know the children she looked after and was always there to support any that needed it.
"The school dinner hall won't be the same without Mrs Glover but we're hoping she will pop in to see us all again soon.
"We wish her the best of luck for an enjoyable and well-deserved retirement."
