‘SEVERE’ delays of up to 90 minutes are being reported after the M6 was closed when a vehicle overturned in a three-vehicle crash.

Queues on the southbound carriageway are stretching back to junction 21 at Woolston following the accident between junction 19 at Knutsford and junction 18 at Middlewich shortly before 2.30pm.

A grey Citroen Xoara, a white Mercedes van and a Mitsubishi were involved in the crash, which left one of the vehicles on its roof.

The motorway was fully closed following the accident before being reopened at 3pm, but delays of around 90 minutes are still being reported.
