YOUNGSTERS preparing to go on to St Gregory’s High School were given an introduction to the science department with a session on outdoor survival skills.

St Joseph’s Primary pupils met with older students to learn how to evaporate sea water and filter dirty water to make it safe to drink.

Head teacher at St Gregory’s, Edward McGlinchey, said: “We have formed a very strong bond with our local primary schools and transition is key to ensuring new pupils make a flying start.”
