A CAT charity in Padgate has been celebrating rehoming their 700th cat in 2016.

Cats Protection’s Warrington Adoption Centre reached the milestone with moggy Delete.

He had been taken to the centre after being abandoned with his mum and two sisters.

Staff say he was initially a quiet kitten who required time and patience to obtain his affection but they are delighted he will be able to enjoy Christmas in his new home.

Manager Sonia Scowcroft said: “This landmark figure reflects all the hard work of the staff and volunteers at Cats Protection’s Warrington Adoption Centre.

“However, it sadly also highlights the number of cats who, for many reasons, are being abandoned or given up.”

If you would like to offer any of the other cats in Cats Protection’s care a home, please contact the centre on 0300 12 06 12.
