A TOUCH rugby team, who were only formed this year in a weightloss drive, have scooped a prize at the Warrington Man of Steel Awards.
The 25-man Fit to Tackle team was founded earlier this year as part of a Warrington Wolves and Livewire initiative.
Participants take part in three exercise sessions per week with activities including touch rugby, leading them to lose a combined 40st.
The group have also won 10 of their 12 touch matches since forming.
They were given the Master Rugby Award at the Warrington Man of Steel Awards, which honours the sport's greatest community achievements in the town, in a ceremony at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Friday, November 25.
Coach Paul Corless said: "This is a fantastic achievement for the team in their first 12 months of playing together.
"The lads worked really hard on the programme to get fit and lose weight and their determination and dedication has continued on the pitch."
