IT has been a long journey with many obstacles along the way but the new classroom for reception pupils at Callands Primary School is now open.
Head teacher Lisa Wigglesworth was joined by presenter and star of CBeebies Katy Ashworth to mark the start of a new era at the school on Callands Road during a ribbon cutting.
She said: "It is a lovely environment for the children to learn in.
"It looks out over a field which is ideal for our work as a Forest School.
"It is a great starting place for a child to begin their school journey."
The new building replaces three mobile classroom which were no longer fit for purpose.
The youngsters moved into their new home on Monday, November 14.
