A STRETTON pub is staging a series of 'spooktacular' Halloween activities after joining forces with a charity 'fighting' for the protection of children across the UK.

The Stretton Fox, on Spark Hall Close, has organised a range of fundraising events over half term after partnering up with the NSPCC.

The pub, which is part of the Vintage Inns group, is taking part in 'go green for Halloween' and is welcoming families to join in the fun over half-term until Monday, October 31.

Staff are inviting parents to bring along their little ones to enjoy a range activities, including storytelling, face painting and spooky games, in return for a small donation.

Juliet Oosthuysen, from Vintage Inns, said: "The NSPCC is a charity which is very close to the hearts of both us and our guests.

"Go green for Halloween is a really great way for us to start our fundraising efforts and we hope that people will get into the spirit and join us over half-term for some spooky fun."

The NSPCC fights to end child abuse in the UK, with more than 90 per cent of its funding coming from voluntary donations.

Nigel Spencer, NSPCC director of fundraising, said: "We really value the support we receive from Vintage Inns and the contribution they are making to our fight for every childhood.

"This Halloween we encourage you to get down to The Stretton Fox with family and friends for some ghostly green fun, while at the same time raising money to help us keep children safe."

In addition to its week of activities, the pub will be donating 25p from every meal ordered from its specials board to the charity until the end of November.
