A MAN was cut from a car after a crash closed Lovely Lane this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the two-car collision shortly before 3.30pm with fire crews removing the roof of one vehicle in order to remove a man who was trapped inside.
An air ambulance also attended the scene close to the junction with Folly Lane, Bewsey Road and Lodge Lane.
Traffic was diverted through the car park of Warrington Hospital while the incident was dealt with.
The man, who is in his 40s, was airlifted to Aintree Hospital with spinal injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
The road was reopened around 5pm.
