THE family of a motorcyclist who died while travelling to a job he loved have paid tribute to the 34-year-old.
Paul Yates from Warrington was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on Farrell Street at 6am this morning.
Paul’s family have released a statement paying tribute to a loving ‘uncle, son, brother and friend’.
The statement read: “Paul was a well-liked and helpful person, always polite and someone who loved his work.
“Paul was on his way to the job he loved when the collision happened.
"Paul was a loving uncle, son, brother and friend who will be sadly missed by us all.”
The road was closed in both directions from Howley Lane to the Holmsfield Road while emergency services attended the scene but reopened at 10am.
The collision, which involved a blue Peugeot Jet Force 125 scooter, was reported to officers at 6am today, Tuesday.
Police are treating the incident as a 'single-vehicle collision'.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "Police and ambulance are in attendance, but sadly the rider of the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead.
"The victim’s family are currently receiving specialist support from Cheshire Police family liaison officers."
