A POPULAR pub has mysteriously closed its doors – but has hinted at a new beginning.
The Hollow Tree on Tarporley Road, Stretton, ceased trading earlier this month.
A notice has been placed outside the pub, which is owned by Mitchells and Butlers, informing customers of the news.
The notice said: "The Hollow Tree has now ceased trading, we would like to thank all our guests for their loyal custom and support over the years.
"Team Hollow Tree."
While the pub’s website has been taken down and all of its social media accounts have been deleted, its URL remains.
When you visit the website users are greeted with a cryptic message that hints at a new beginning.
The message says: “Hollow Tree in Warrington has now closed its doors to make way for something new and exciting.”
The Guardian have approached Mitchells and Butlers for a comment and are awaiting their response.
